Michelle Massingale Dressler

Mrs. Dressler earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from West Virginia University.  Michelle graduated magna cum laude from undergraduate school in 1991 and was inducted as a member of Phi Beta Kappa.  In 1994, she graduated second in her class from The West Virginia University College of Law, where she held the position of Articles Editor on the Law Review.  She was also a member of the Order of the Coif and appointed to the Judicial Board of West Virginia University.

Upon graduation from law school, Michelle concentrated her practice on various forms of civil litigation in state and federal courts, including mass torts, contract disputes, product liability, employment law and wrongful discharge.  She has also developed an expertise in North Carolina community association law. She has had extensive appellate practice in federal and state courts and has represented a wide variety of clients from large corporations to individuals as both plaintiffs and defendants.

Prior to his appointment to the federal bench, Michelle was privileged to have practiced in West Virginia for several years with the Honorable Robert B. King, Judge for the Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.  Thereafter, she moved to North Carolina. She is licensed in all state and federal courts in West Virginia and North Carolina. Michelle’s current practice is focused on litigation, business disputes, any type of contract disputes, employment law, wrongful discharge, employment contracts, including noncompete and non-solicitation agreements, community association law and construction disputes.  Mrs. Dressler is also a Certified Mediator.
